Underneath the ribbing is 4 inches. The ribbing accounts for and 1 1/2 inches AND above the ribbing is 10 inches! WOOT! (sorry for the crappy photo, it has been either raining or overcast since June 4!)I'm determined to actually wear this on July 4th.
