Amy Singer and I...

are basically going to have lunch together on my birthday! How exciting is that?

WOO HOO!!

Amy is coming to my LYS. My DH, being the wonderful man he is, bought me a ticket for a class she is giving on a Shawl Design Starter Class!! Since the class is 10-1 lunch is included.

Just peel me off the ceiling!

Do you think I would be a dork if I had her autograph the book I have with "Happy Birthday! -Amy Singer"?

Her book No Sheep for You was the first knitting book I ever bought. You see both Amy and I can not knit with wool. I also found out she has house rabbits, much like my household.

Well I'm sure I'm going to bore you with going on about how thrilled I am...so topic switch.

DH and I are having some down time, a part stay-vacation and part travel vacation. So, you may not hear from me for a few days. I've had quite a hard time at work these past few months, compiled with my DH's health and unemployment status I need to get refreshed.

So, until next time...

Still photo troubles

Ok, the work around only worked for so long. So, it makes uploading photos a much more time consuming task. (read into that as totally irritating!) I need to hunt through the bin of computer software and find the camera software CD.

I've been working on my Lutea every night since you saw it last. Here is what it looks like:I have to learn a new stitch to finish it. It is called a 3 needle bind off. I'm used to the kitchener stitch, so this will be different. I'm waiting until I have some daylight knitting time...maybe at some point this upcoming week.

I did try it on and I'm disappointed at how short it is. I even followed the directions on the length, otherwise I really like it!

I've cast off for another project.. It is the the Shawl That Jazz.
CO: 248 Stitches
Needles: US 8 Hiya Hiya 24" circulars
Yarn: Knit One Crochet Too 2nd Time Cotton
Colorway: 219 Borealis

I've really been looking forward to knitting up this one for the past few months.

I did find a bunny photo for you. This one resides on my quilt rack in the living room. I like to say he is my gardener rabbit...yes I'm well aware it is a fork not a spade!

Oh ... the photos

DH is just one great guy! He found a work around for my photos and uploaded them to our server. THANK YOU!

So away we go:
Pattern: Ballband Dishcloth
Yarn: Cascade Fixation
Colorway: Blue & White
CO: 45 stitches
Needles: US 6 Hiya Hiya Circulars
(yes I do have an error and I didn't feel like froggin'!)Pattern: DW Dishcloth
Yarn: Knit One Crochet TY-DY
Colorway: #631
CO: 38
Needles: US 6 Hiya Hiya Circulars

I also could not resist another Bunny Dishcloth. I can see myself making a few of these this year! I used the same needles & yarn as the DW Dishcloth. I love how the bunny shows up in this yarn more verses when I used a much more variegated yarn earlier this year. Here is the Lutea Lace Shoulder Shell that I started:
Yarn: Classic Elite Sundance
Colorway: Blue
CO: 152
Needles: US 8 Hiya Hiya Circulars

How could I leave you with all these knitting projects and skip the bunny photo? I simply could not do it.

This bunny has been retired from active duty. It is a water feeder for a plant. Unfortunately it was broken a few years back, so it rests comfortably in a Coca-Cola cup.

FO's however I'm missing something...

I've been busy with the following FO's:

Another bunny dishcloth:

DW dishcloth:

and how do you like this one, the famous dishcloth from Mason Dixon Knitting:

I've also CO on another 'tank top' of sorts:

Yes another garment! (again from Interweave Knits Summer 2007).

NOTICE ANYTHING WRONG? No stinking photos. I'm irked. My regular take-photos-off-camera-easily-software IS GONE! I can thank the upgrade to Windows Vista.

So, this poor blog will have to wait until I'm able to find a solution. Who knows this may free up some blog time to keep knitting away on my new garment.
