Rain
So, needless to say I do not have an updated photo of my stitch scarf. I could pull out the photo tent, but instead chose to work out tonight. I got a new W!! dance game. Oh my....I'm going to be sore tomorrow!
Anyway, not to leave you without a photo, I'll leave you with a pic of our cute bunny. This was the first time she ate my left over apple from the core. I'm usually chopping it up for her in little pieces.

Start of a new week
I actually got some knitting in this weekend. Although, I can not locate my camera to computer cord to upload the photos. Figures.
I started back on my 'frogged' fingerless mitts. I could not personally bring myself to frog one of the cuffs when I realized I had an error, so nothing like bringing in a 3 year old to pull out the needles. It really did take the edge off. I mean it was done in mere seconds...kinda like ripping a band-aid off.
This same SLG (special little girl) is going to be receiving a knitting hat. I'm following the pattern from Last Minute Knitted Gifts book. It is my first project using circular needles. I had purchased the Mission Hills 1824 Yarn in pink earlier this year (see 2nd trip to Webs, August 2008) however, I was clearly told by SLG that it needs to be lilac in color. OK! I'm on it.
I'm using this pink one as a test, as it knits up so quickly....amazing what US 7 needles do, when you are used to US 2 or 3 for sock knitting!
Continuing my rabbit photo a blog post. Here is the most expensive rabbit I've purchased:

Her name is Dottie, and she was knit by Julie in the UK. She sits in a rocking chair that my Grandfather made me.

I'm still around
I was given an idea by a special someone to start doing a picture a day of one bunny that I have around the house and see how long it would take to post all of the rabbits/bunny items that I've collected through the years.
I thought, with having no real topic today, that today would be a good day to start.
I leave you with the most important bunny in our house. Ms. B.
Here Bianca is snuggling with 'Baby', so technically you are getting two bunnies in this one!

Oh Mother Nature...
What is this kind of forecast:
- Friday: rain, snow with a chance of sleet in the morning, then rain in the afternoon. Little or no total snow accumulation. Near steady temperature in the upper 30s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 25 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent
Since I really do not have anything else positive to say...I'll leave you with a photo of a quite relaxed from finishing that plate fully of lettuce bun!
PS - didn't feel like corrected the glowing eye either.Monday, January 7, 2008
Only 8 months and 16 days
You excel at anything difficult or high tech. In other words, you're a total (brilliant) geek. It's difficult for you to find people worth spending time with. Which is probably why you'll take over the world with your evil robots! Your strength: Your unfailing logic Your weakness: Loving machines more than people Your power color: Tan Your power symbol: Pi Your power month: July |
It is so funny that she hangs her foot out the side of the second level panel.I'm in a knitting funk. I've turned my heels (YIPPEE!!), now I'm hung on the gusset pick up stitches. UGH! When am I going to be able just to knit from start to finish without pausing at each change?

A rose by any other name...
The rose was part of a relaxation package that included 4 books that I hadn't read yet. Which, if you have seen my excel file (yes I keep track of my books in an excel file!) is utterly impressive! I put it centrally located, so I can see it from where I sit now and it makes me smile when I look at it.I also picked up my sock blockers from the post office. WOW are they big. I never realized in seeing these blockers in other peoples blog how truly big they are. No wonder why my first pair of socks are too short for my liking. So, more knitting is necessary for the socks I'm currently working on.
The other good news is that Dave the contractor started on our shed on Saturday! WOO HOO!! He is hoping to finish it this week. Double WOO HOO!!
We also took Bianca to the vet. She had to have her blood drawn for a recheck of her levels. We are hoping that they stayed the same or went down. While we were waiting for the vet to come in the room we let her out on the floor and it didn't take her very long to start doing laps around the entire room. She was such a good bunny during the visit! Once she was home she was back to being 'Ms. Lounge-Bun':

Still have not gone to PO
Now, granted the PO is in a different direction than the way to work, so technically it is out of the way, and that the temperature is like 15 degrees when I leave for work, who wants to get back out into the cold...it is bad enough I don't have a remote starter nor a garage and sit and shiver in the car for an hour (ok. minutes, but it feels like longer) before leaving. The PO also closes before I even leave work at nights, so that is out. I may have to either make the effort tomorrow morning or wait until Saturday.
I haven't been doing much knitting since the last knitting photo. I've been spending more time on Ravelry.
I really need to enter an online addict 12 step program. That site is so addictive. You can oooooh and ahhhh over all these beautiful knitting projects that I could do, maybe not today but someday. You can hang up in the group section and listen to people posting what they are working on. In fact the other day I found a group on Knitters who love African Violets. I found out I need to move my plants to a better side of the house for more blooms...who knew!? :-)
Off to check Ravelry...it has been about 10 minutes since I was there last and well I'm starting to have the shakes! I'll leave you with Ms. B.:

December what?
I bought myself an early Christmas present this week. I've been wanting sock blockers for a while now and Sheri at The Loopy Ewe finally had these back in stock. Since DH is an enabler, he said go for it as it was only $19.00. I chose the red plastic ones, figuring I can use them to wash them as well.
They should be at our post office on Monday. So now the question is to get up early to pick them up prior to work in the nasty weather we are going to be having...or can I wait a couple of days.
I put knitting on hold for my socks, as I want to try them on the sock blockers before I start the heel flap.
I noticed that I haven't posted a Bianca picture in a while. Here is where we found her doing the other night:

Apparently she didn't like that I placed a tree leaf shredder in that spot. As she promptly chewed through it so it was no longer hanging. She is so picky about decorating!

Meez and Emily comes home one last time

This one is my favorite, the two of them laying together:

Flowers
In the meantime, we were concerned about Bianca being lonely, we purchased a stuffed animal (the vet recommended it as it may allow Bianca to grieve and/or cuddle with 'someone'). A cute moment captured this weekend was Bianca kissing the stuffed rabbit. I'll post a picture as soon as I find the computer cable.
I spent a few hours weeding the front garden. DH was a big help too! I think it was nice to get out and do some manual labor (after spending too many nights lately just sitting). I'll leave you with one of my favorite photos from when my flower pot was in full bloom.

Ode to Emily
She would be the one in the photo on the right. See the little mohawk? That would be Em.
We knew that when we adopted her & her sister, back over 4 years ago, that we would make a better life for the two of them. They became the children we never could have. Holidays and birthdays were always filled up with paper wrapped yogurt drops or a new cardboard house. Nights were spent on the floor to enjoy endless pets or kisses.
We certainly have so many memories to remember her with. We know she is in a much better place and no longer suffering.
We love you Em! Sweet dreams always!!

No Sheep Swap Package #2
It was a great package, as so was the first. I got the following:
The dark chocolate drink is long gone! Yummy! The card reads"I have a secret pal but it's not really a secret...I know who she is!"
Did you see what is on the top left? NEEDLES!! Lantern Moon, Destiny Circular ones!!! YAHOO!! I do not own a pair of circulars and I'm itching to try my second shawl on them (but I have to finish my first shawl...can't have too many UFO's!) :-)
There is also samples from other non-wool yarns. This is such a great idea to send in a swap. I can't want to try some of them.
Thank you Stitch-ay Woman!! You've made my first ever swap a great experience!!
**As for how Emily is doing (she is the one on the right of the picture with the mohawk!)...she is enjoying her cheerios. She is taking her medications however, there isn't any change. She did give me quite a startle last night when I arrived home and didn't see her. She had managed to crawl over the towel/rod (that keep her on the rug for traction) into a tube (the cardboard kind you use when you are making a concrete footing) and was hiding!
We gave her a bath last night and she looks pretty clean. She just had her first visitors (our wonderful neighbors) who feed her yogurt drops. So...we will just be taking one day at a time.

Pet ER Day 2
The not so good news is we really don't have an exact idea of what is going on. She could have e. cuniculi, pasturella, neoplasia, or something else. Many of the tests for those items will be back in 1-2 weeks.
She is not in any pain. So, we are treating her for infections that she may have.
We have rearranged the dining room to accommodate where she goes. We put in a nice plush feeling carpet, moved the water/food bowls to a lower sided bowls for ease.
I guess we are now just going to take it a day at a time. These meds may improve her back leg, they may keep it the same or it could get worse. We don't know.

Pet ER
We came home and found her with her legs going one direction, her front paws going another and it seemed that she had loss the use of her back legs. Our vet took x-rays and ruled out a dislocated joint and suggested we go to a specialist.
Fortunately, we live very close to a vet teaching hospital (Tufts in Grafton, MA). So, off we go...
The exotics vet was very calming. She did a radiogram, while Emily was under anesthetic. Also, blood work and some other items. She didn't find any breaks (back, leg etc.) which was a relief, however we could be looking at a neurological issue or something hereditary. We should know more tomorrow when all the tests results are back (well except for one test which will take a week).
So...we will see how things look tomorrow. For now, I exhausted and off for some shut eye.

Ms. Dottie Comes Home
Yahoo! I had an appointment this morning and thought I may miss the going to get the mail at the post office, during the few hours they are open on a Saturday. However, the DH comes to the rescue once again.I come home to a package sitting on a small rocker chair that my Grandpa made me. My DH informed him that he checked the package to make sure Ms. Dottie was sitting upright! He is one great guy!
Isn't she the cutiest?
If you are lucky enough you can catch Julie and her wonderful creations here: http://www.littlecottonrabbits.typepad.co.uk/
I think Ms. Dottie deserves a post all to herself, so more later on what else arrived in the mail.

Dottie is coming home
I scored big yesterday. I receive the email updates from Julie of Little Cotton Rabbits of when the new products are going to go up for sale. Well, 10 little critters were going up at 5 on Saturday and well, let us just say I had to put off going to dinner to keep hitting reload on her sale page! I was successful in that I scored Dottie!! I'm thrilled!! She will look great on my wall of unique rabbits from all over the country however, now I can say all over the world.I'm at the point with my socks that I can start the toe decreases. Now the question is: Can I finish by Thursday - May 31, 2007? Stay tuned...
